Kitten Whisperers

I took this video at Grandma and Grandpa Flake's house. Austin loves animals more than anything. I don't dare get one because I don't think it would ever survive around these two boys.

Conference Weekend

It was amazing (as usual)! On Friday night we went to Tyler's 10 year reunion of when he went to the Jerusalem Center for a semester with his parents (who taught), and his 2 brothers. I had fun meeting so many people and Tyler said he really enjoyed seeing so many old friends. We met in the new beautiful Hinckley Alumni Building were we had a nice meal and program. Here is a picture of the group.
Here is a picture of us all dressed up before leaving to go to the reunion. When I was getting ready to go I had a distinct memory of sitting in the bathroom watching my mom do her hair and makeup before my parents went out to a party. I can't believe I am the one getting all ready to go and leaving my kids. :) Oh ya, I got a haircut last week that I am trying to get used to. It is fun for the summer at least. But I do miss my long hair.

Listening to conference with a 2 1/2 and 1 year old can be interested! But they did remarkably well! This is one of the activities that kept them entertained while we listened. I loved conference so much and can't wait to re-listen/read them over and over again.
Ty with Nana's kitten. I love his smile in this one.
I had to include these other 2 pictures of Ty with the kittens b/c of his cute dimples and how tender he looks in the last one.

He is going to be in the NBA for SURE!!

This is Austin's latest trick that Ty taught him. Ty is pretty excited that he learned how to do it!

Lately...

Here are a few shots of what we have been doing lately. Last weekend I went outside with Tyler, his Dad, and the two boys just to see what they were up to and to take some pictures. They were fixing the fence.

Yes, that is me helping a little, too.

I love Austin's face in this picture. Ha!

Ty is prepared for whatever is going to come his way. He cracks me up!

Austin caught in the act of stealing food from the fridge. I do feed him....i promise.
I wish that there were an explanation for this picture. But...nope.

We went to an indoor football game to watch the Thunder play at UVU. It was really entertaining. Ty and Uncle Grove being buds as they share popcorn.

The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy. I decided to pick up basketball again since high school. I put together a city league team with mostly ladies in my ward but also an old high school teammate, Nicole Morin, and one of Tyler's cousins wife, Maren. It has been so much fun getting back into it, not to mention the great workout! I am still waiting until I don't get winded every couple times down the court. Maybe by the end of the season. :)

The other thing that has been going great lately is our aerobics group that my friend Becky and I have put together for our stake. We have had a great turnout lately and has been fun to grow in numbers. I love aerobics so much. It is fun to plan my classes every time. I find myself making up routines in my head as I am falling asleep.

This past week my wonderful parents-in-law gave us tickets to the play, MacBeth, at BYU. They even watched our kids while we went. My mother-in-law printed out a synopsis of the play so that we could read it before we went to understand all the characters better which really helped. As if all this wasn't enough she sent us with little bags of caramel popcorn to snack on. The play ended up not getting over until late after the kids were asleep so they convinced us into having them spend the night and come get them in the morning. If I don't have the best in laws I don't know who does! The play was really well done. They put a twist to it and put in it Book of Mormon times, and added lots of places and people that are in the Book of Mormon into the play. It was really interesting. At the end of the play they had all the cast come out on the stage and the audience could ask them question. Tyler decided to ask MacBeth and Lady MacBeth if they were dating in real life because of their extremely intense kissing in the play.(Seriously, we aren't talkin' a stage kiss by any means). Turns out that they were both married to other people, who they pointed out in the audience as they tried to devert the attention and avoid emphasis on the comment that Tyler made. I could tell that they were really embrassed, but I guess that is what you get when you open up questions to the audience. Tyler makes me laugh.
