Birthday Week!

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of days.

My little bro, Mark, turned 12 a couple weeks ago, so we took a family trip to the temple to do baptisms. It was very memorable. Ty has gone off the deep end. We are distressed parents.
I was born 14 minutes after my dad's birthday. We always have a lot of fun celebrating them together. This happens to be the 4th birthday cake I have had and it isn't even my birthday yet. :) I am trying to drag out my birthday as long as I possibly can, as you can tell. They have all happened to be carrot cake....my favorite!
Another birthday cake...that Grandpa Flake made. This one is extremely unusual. Can you tell what it is?

The makers and the takers.

There is no explaination for this picture.
The girls in the fam. We missed Suzanne!

Me and sista Sam

Here is another video of Ty and Austin. Ty tells me about 100 times a day, when he makes Austin laugh or smile, "Austin likes it!"

Austin Jump Up

This is Austin's new trick. He is such a mover and shaker that I had no doubt this was for him. (Sorry about the sticker on his head. It is Ty's new thing.)

Here is a video of Ty having a little fun. After watching this, I kinda feel bad. Austin looks so helpless.

The Happenins'

We have had quite an eventful week. We have had some highlights and low lights!

On Friday, Ty woke up acting really sick. Throughout the day, I noticed that he progressively had a harder time breathing. His chest and stomach would rise dramatically every time he would breathe. All he wanted to do was sit on the coach all day because it took so much effort to breathe. I took him to our pediatrician. They gave him several breathing treatments (which didn’t help) and x-rays. The doctor told us that it was serious enough that we needed to go to Primary Children’s Hospital right away to get the proper care. So…that is where we spent Friday night! It was the longest night of our lives. They diagnosed him with viral pneumonia. Trying to get a 2 year old to keep a tube in his nose, to wear a mask for his breathing treatments, and leashed up to monitor on his toe is absolutely impossible! We spent the entire 24 hours while we were there wrangling him. It was so hard seeing him go through it all. Phew. I am so glad it is over and that Ty is feeling much better now. Staying at the hospital for one night left me in awe of the families that have this as a lifestyle. I saw and met several parents with chronically ill children. It completely broke my heart.
It is so crazy to see Ty sick this past month, because it has been the first time he has been sick in his entire life. Hopefully he won’t catch anything else while his immune system is down still.
Here are some pictures that my mom happened to snap. Trust me I wasn’t even thinking about pictures and it was the last thing I wanted to be in. But here's to memories!
At the doctors office. That is a fake smile.
After one long night...

On a happier note we really enjoyed going to the Spanish Fork Rodeo! I had to get a family cowboy pictures with everyone in their cowboy boots! I think we are officially true Spanish Forkians’ Yee-haw!

Then the best thing that has happened lately is that we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary! Time flies! I guess that really isn’t that long, but to me I can barely remember not being married. Here is a picture that I happened to have digitally. I don’t have any that the photographer took, on the computer. But this is one of my favs. I would give some really cheesy tribute to Tyler, but he would be too embarrassed and insist that I take it down.

I couldn't resist this picture of my darling boy! He is at my favorite stage so far. Soo interactive! You can't really tell here but he has 2 new teeth on the bottom!

Spanish Fork Windmills

A couple months ago there was a new additon to Spanish Fork. All winter we watched huge oversized semis transporting one blade at a time up to the site. It took us awhile before we knew what the blades were for and that they were actually putting up a whole park of nine windmills!

This is the view from our bedroom window. I can't decide how I feel about them. I don't like how it disruptes our beautiful view of nature. However, how could nature be as interesting as these massive windmills?

I have read up about it on the internet. There are 9 of them and each one cost 3 million dollars, a total of $27 million! I have heard all sorts of rumors. Some say that all the electricity is getting sent to California, others say that they are being recalled because of a defect. Someone who knows something tell me more about this, or else I'm agonna call the city.

Sick Summer?

I always thought that good weather generally means good health. However, around our house summer is bringing in the sicknesses. Poor Ty has really never gotten sick in his entire life until now! He has had Rosella, which I have never heard of until he got it. It is similar to chicken pox, but isn't as bad. He had a fever for a couple days and then broke out with red spots all over his body. Luckily he has recovered, but man, for a week or so he just wasn't himself. This is a picture of him sitting with his blanket and watching T.V. Extremely uncharacteristic!

Now all we have to do is fatten him up from all the weight he has lost! Poor guy!
